I got this swell 18 inch tall 3D print of my sculpture "Helical Happenstance" from my friends at Offload Studios.   Like the biblical Tower of Babel, it is designed to unite all humans with a common language and reach up into the heavens, making anything we can imagine possible.

We could use one of these where we live. I'm American and speak decent English (American) and I studied Thai thinking that's what people speak in Thailand. That's only true for Central Thailand around the Bangkok region. Here in the North West Thai's speak Lanna language and every hill tribe like the Hmong, Karen, Lisu, Akka, Maew has their own and of course there's Burmese. In Issan the people speak Issan, Lao, Cambodian, Suai and Thai, and a score of local tribal languages. The south has it's own language too. Maybe this is why Thailand is known as the Land of Smiles. When people can't communicate with words smiles are the safest way to get along. Of course smiles can hide a wide variety of emotions and agendas most of which are not all that friendly or sincere. I have learned to smile first and ask questions later. In a place where face is held in such high regard many folks have at least two just to get bye. Beautiful piece bye the way.
