This piece pulls you into an endless journey. It is a unique experience of the forces of yin and yang. It is an emotionally and psychologically active blend of sea plant and creature - invoking interior and exterior flow: implicate/explicate inversions. It has terminated in a prayer mode that has maintained allegiance to its medium, or environment of growth, even as it reaches into the void. It seems to have forgotten nothing. Its smooth surface is extremely appealing and even urges one to reach out and touch that smooth cool. There is an ever-increasing desire to turn it or walk around it. I want to see it in front of a New York City high-rise with continuously changing light on it. It needs to be so large that I could crawl into an orifice and hide. Then suddenly re-emerge - reborn, changed, laughing.I see it set in a reflecting pool of water. Sometimes it is dry and still. But at other times it is suddenly streaming with water and is shiny with the moisture of terrestrial genesis. I see it at night all by itself - city buildings mere monolithic ghosts behind it - the light changing in a perpetual but slow metamorphosis, from dull red all the way to etheric violet, when all wetness has dried. It needs to be ten feet tall with the tips of its tentacles glowing as if radiating its etheric sap into the blue.
