AI Works

These images are created through an elaborate, multi-stage collaboration with generative AI. I begin with a conceptual input - an original image, drawing, or text prompt, and develop each piece through an iterative process of generation, selection, painting, upscaling, regeneration, and compositing, resulting in high-resolution images and large format prints.
No artist names, works, or styles are referenced in the prompts.

My process working with AI, as with other creative technologies, combines emergent discovery with intuition, improvisation, and intentional control. It begins with a conceptual starting point such as an original image, drawing, or text prompt, which I develop while exploring different generative models. This produces a range of novel image variants from which I make critical selections, sometimes combining elements across versions. I then paint directly onto the initial images to resolve issues and guide them toward my aesthetic and conceptual intentions.

The work evolves through stages of upscaling, regeneration, and enhancement. I blend AI reinterpretations using digital painting and compositing, gradually increasing complexity and fidelity.

To achieve extreme resolutions, I employ a tiling process. This involves generating multiple variations of localized sections through prompt adjustments and AI regeneration. These elements are refined through painting and then reassembled into a unified image, reconciling and repairing the seams.

Collaborating with AI in this way allows me to expand creative boundaries and realize high‑resolution images through a dynamic interplay of intuition, emergence, intention, and iteration.
