Creative Practice
What interests me most about creative technologies is the opportunity to cultivate and collaborate with emergence, the fundamental creative process underlying all phenomena. This inquiry, along with the growing ambiguity between the physical and the virtual, informs my images, immersive worlds, and sculptures.
My practice investigates the creative process, perception, and ontology. I work with generative systems and manual practices to balance emergence, intention, intuition, and improvisation. By rendering abstract forms with the fidelity of the physical world, I create works that exist in a state of ontological ambiguity, simultaneously familiar and unrecognizable.
I formalize these works as large-format prints, physical objects, and virtual worlds to emphasize the informational basis of both the virtual and the physical. I seek to create novel works that challenge perception, inspire awe, and engage both the conscious and unconscious mind in ontological inquiry.
