Long before virtual reality display technology was available to me, I described my work as exploring virtual worlds that I was both creating and discovering, and bringing back virtual photographs to share. What was previously metaphorical became literal. I rendered high-resolution stills of my virtual reality art worlds directly from the real-time graphics engine, and generated even higher-fidelity imagery using physically based ray tracing. These images were printed at large scale for exhibition installations of Anandala and Blortasia at the MOXI Museum in Santa Barbara, and other immersive exhibits, including ones in Lyon, France, and at the Theater of Digital Art (ToDA) in Dubai.
